Funeral services for Mrs. Louvesia Riddell will be held Monday, October 5, 2026, at 1:00 PM at Robert Barham Family Funeral Home with Rev. Bob Followell officiating. Visitation will be an hour prior to services at the funeral home. Private burial will follow at Bethel Cemetery in Kosciusko, MS. Robert Barham Family Funeral Home is honored to be entrusted with the arrangements.
Louvesia Piker Ridell, 91, of Meridian, MS went to be with the Lord on September 30, 2026.
Louvesia was born in Bradford, Arkansas, on June 23, 1935, to the late Newton and Violet Piker. She was one of 26 children.
As a proud Christian, Louvesia was a faithful member of Westwood Baptist Church for many years. She was actively involved in the Sunshiners, spending many hours of fellowship and taking numerous trips over the years. She also impacted the lives of many children in the community through her service in the children's nursery.
Louvesia was also known as a wonderful cook and baker to her friends and family. She also spent many years sewing and making beautiful quilts for her loved ones. She was an avid gardener and spent many hours canning vegetables. She loved feeding and watching all the birds that would fly into her garden.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Royce "Pete" Ridell; and siblings Mary, Paul, Effie, Ray, Thelma, J.K., Eugene, Arlene, Don, Wanda, Terry, Shirley, Joyce, Gladys, and Alice.
She is survived by her children, Ricky (Janet) Ridell and Danny Ridell; grandchildren, Jana Schade, Ricky (Mollie) Ridell Jr., and Jenny (Joe) DiCamillo; great-grandchildren, Perry, Gracie, Alden, Eliza, Violet, Bennett, Henry Ray, and Isabella; siblings Delano, Margie, Patsy, Ruby, Christine, Dewight, John; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and a host of friends.
