Funeral services for Mrs. Lyndia B. Parten will be held Monday, May 19, 2025, at 11:00 AM at Midway Baptist Church with Bro. Michael Pogue officiating. Burial will follow at Toomsuba Cemetery. Robert Barham Family Funeral Home is honored to be entrusted with the arrangements.

Mrs. Lyndia B. Parten, age 80, of Meridian, MS passed away Thursday, May 15, 2025, at her home.

In Lyndia's spare time some of her favorite hobbies included spending time with family, cooking, shopping, traveling, and playing cards with her husband and all of their friends. Her faith in her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ was evident through how she lived and walked in her day to day life. She found much joy by serving at Midway Baptist Church where she was a longtime member. Lyndia truly embodied what it meant to be a southern belle and had the gift of hospitality. She was always ready to welcome anyone with open arms. Lyndia loved to laugh and have a good time in the company of others.

She worked at Mississippi Power as an Administrative Assistant for over twenty-seven years until her retirement in 2007.

She is survived by her son, Alton DeWayne Parten (Dianne); grandchildren, Jared Parten (Lindsey), Brittany Robinson (Cary), and Camryn Ball (Alex); her great-grandchildren; brother, Tommy Butler (Gayle); daughter-in-law Jessica McQuaig Parten and many extended family members.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Alton Parten, her son, Brad Parten; her parents, Julian and Julia Butler.

Pallbearers will be the deacons of Midway Baptist Church.

The family requests memorial donations be made to Midway Baptist Church in Mrs. Lyndia's honor.
