Mahala H. Milling Services for Mahala H. Milling will be held Wednesday, January 12, 2011 at 11:30 at Robert Barham Family Funeral Home Chapel, with Reverend Earl Wheatley officiating. Burial will be in Morrow cemetery. Mrs. Milling 86, of Meridian, died Thursday, January 6, 2011 at Bedford Care Center, Marion. There are no words to express the loss we feel today. We lost a perfect jewel, a treasure beyond description. She was a wife beyond compare, and a mother as precious as silver and gold. The scriptures describe the fruit of the spirit; there are no better words to describe our mother. She was as gentle as a summer breeze, her smile always full of love and joy. Her tender touch was always patient and kind, with self-control and gentleness. Her goodness was pure and clean. Her faithfulness showed all of us what a great peace could be found only through Christ. She loved her family very much and was a vigilant prayer warrior. We will miss you more than words could ever express. We rejoice because we know you are with our Lord and Savior, and we look forward to the day when we will all be reunited in His presence. Until we meet her there, we will long for her, our irreplaceable mother, grandmother, and friend. Your adoring children. Mahala worked for Western Union for more than 20 years before leaving to work for EMEPA where she retired in 1986 after 20 years as cashier. Mahala enjoyed gardening, quilting, sewing, fishing with her husband after retirement and was a voracious reader. She served in many capacities in the church her entire life. Everyone who knew her loved her. Survivors include her children, Becki Reynolds and her husband Bud, Alan Millings and his wife Terri; grandchildren, Aaron Reynolds and his wife Raquel, Tasha Reynolds, Benjamin Reynolds and his wife Karisa, Taylor Rupp and her husband Justin and J.K. Thompson. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband of 55 years, Keith Milling, brother Woodrow Hillman; sisters, Sarah Hillman Smith, Rachel Hillman Dove; grandson, Christopher Matthew Reynolds. Family and friends may sign the online guestbook at robertbarhamffh.com. Visitation will be held Tuesday 6-8 at the funeral home.
