Mai Keen Sanders Services for Mai Keen Sanders will be held Saturday, February 19, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. at Central United Methodist Church with Dr. Bob Rambo and Jim Wall officiating. Burial will be in Magnolia Cemetery with Robert Barham Family Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements. Mrs. Sanders, 80, of Meridian died Wednesday, February 16, 2011 at Rush Hospital. Mrs. Sanders is a native of Meridian. She graduated from Meridian High School and received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing from the University of Southern Mississippi. She retired from Weems Mental Health Center after many years as a nurse there. Mai was "a cheerful giver" and freely gave of her time as a member of the Meridian Junior Auxiliary and many other civic organizations and charities. Mrs. Sanders is survived by her husband Joe Charles Sanders; daughter Marcia West and husband Randy of Brandon, son Chuck Sanders and wife Janie of Meridian, and daughter Leila Sanders of Madison; her grandchildren Sparky Sparnecht and wife Sheri of Brandon, Ashley Siegfried and husband Jason of Brandon, Jennifer Paulk and husband Ryan of Rogers, AR, Julie Senecal and husband Aaron of Nashville, TN, Jonathan Sanders of Meridian, Hope Sanders of Nashville, TN, Natalie Nolan of Madison, Melissa Parker of Nashville, TN, Christina Sanders of Madison and Addison Sanders of Madison; fifteen great grandchildren; sister Lou O'Leary and husband David of Owensboro, KY, brother-in-law Terry Plummer of Meridian, sister-in-law Peggy Melton and husband Billy of Meridian, sister-in-law Wanda Copeland of Madison; and, numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her grandson Joseph Sanders, sister Sandra Plummer, parents Mildred and Guy Keen, and grandmother Leila Mai Stallworth. Pallbearers will be Sparky Sparnecht, Jonathan Sanders, Jason Siegfried, Aaron Senecal, and Ryan Paulk. Honorary pallbearers will be the William's Sunday School Class. The family requests memorials be made to Central United Methodist Church Building Fund.
