Mamie Orena Brewer Bonner

Services for Mamie Orena Brewer Bonner will be held Saturday, March 31, 2018 at 12:00 at Robert Barham Family Funeral Home Chapel, with Reverends Paul Raley and Randy Caldwell officiating. Burial will be in Magnolia Cemetery.

Mrs. Bonner, 86, of Mobile passed away Sunday, March 25, 2018 at Providence Hospital, Mobile, AL.

Mamie was born on Spetember 1, 1931. She graduated from St. Aloysius High School. She was also a member of the Eastern Star, a Freemason organization. After marrying her husband, Frank, she moved to Mobile, where she resided until her time of death. She will be remembered as a loving mother and grandmother, who loved spending time with her children and grandchildren. She was also a devoted Christ follower. She loved her animals. She enjoyed fishing, and she loved to tell her famous stories. Her favorite thing to talk about was her grandmother, whom she called “Lil’ Mama.”

Survivors include her children, Bernard Olin Bonner, Lawrence Allen Bonner, Orena Paulette Fairchild, Gaines Michael Bonner; grandchildren, Rachel (Allen) Wilkinson, Angela Bonner, Frank (Lauren) Bonner, Jessica (Seth) Bonner, Andrea (Stan) Achenbach, Hank (Amy) Fairchild, Tara Fairchild, Gina (Jessie) Fairchild; thirteen great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Betty Brewer Fields and Eugene T. Merritt, Sr.; husband, Olin F. Bonner.

Pallbearers will be Hank Fairchild, Frank Bonner, Zachery Raney, Eric Smith, Gus Houston, and Jessie Gardner.

In lieu of flowers, the family request memorials be made to The Children’s Shriners Hospital.
