Funeral services for Mrs. Marilyn Vance Banks will begin at 1:00 pm Thursday, October 15, 2020 at Robert Barham Family Funeral Home chapel with the Reverends Bob Null, Jimmy Reed, and David Chandler officiating. Interment will follow at Meridian Memorial Park Cemetery. Robert Barham Family Funeral Home is honored to be entrusted with arrangements.
Mrs. Banks, 84, of Meridian, passed away to her Heavenly Home Sunday, October 11, 2020 at her home.
Marilyn was a strong Christian who could be described as a Proverbs 31 woman. She was a faithful member of First Assembly of Meridian for over 69 years. She faithfully served as custodian for over 40 years, a position which she loved dearly. She enjoyed watching football in her spare time. Her favorite title was “Mamaw” which was given by her grandchildren whom she dearly loved; she was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. Mrs. Banks loved to cook for family and friends as long as her health permitted.
Marilyn is survived by her children Sheryl Clark (Blake), Cindy Edwards (Keith), Allen Banks, Debra Corbitt, and Billy Banks (Letitia). Chris Alderson, Chad Clark, Josh Clark, Jonathan Edwards, Amber Maranto (Stephen), Kim Hart (Steven), Jeffrey Corbitt, Andrea Banks, Anna Grace Banks, Aaron Banks, Amanda Joyner, and Dylan Corbitt; ten great-grandchildren, and great-great grandson. Siblings. Nancy Leach (William), Judy Wooldridge (John), Martha Gunter (Mike), and Jack Ezell (June) as well as a host of nieces, nephews, and extended family members.
Mrs. Banks is reunited with her husband of 67 years, Billy Gib Banks; parents, John and Mary Alice Vance; siblings Beverly Williams and Sidney Vance.
The family suggest memorials be made as donations to FAM Building Fund in lieu of flowers.
Pallbearers will be Chris Alderson, Chad Clark, Josh Clark, Jonathan Edwards, Jeffrey Corbitt, Dylan Corbitt, Aaron Banks, and Hayden Hart.

The Banks family will receive guests from 11:00 am until 12:45 pm at the funeral home prior to funeral rites. Face mask are required to attend services.
