Marion G. "Cooker" Riley Services for Marion G. "Cooker" Riley will be held Thursday, March 17, 2011, at 11:00a.m. at the Robert Barham Family Funeral Home Chapel, with Dr. Dan Lanier and Dr. Malcom Lewis officiating. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery with Robert Barham Family Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Mr. Riley, age 77, of Meridian, died Monday, March 14, 2011, at his residence. He was a longtime member of Northcrest Baptist Church for 26 years. He retired as an engineer from Kansas City Southern Railroad after 38 years. He also worked as a Bailiff for Judge Mason for 8 years. He was a Veteran of the U.S. Army, and a member of Masonic Lodge #308. He will be remembered for his love for family, church, and people. Survivors include his wife, Donna Molpus Riley, of Meridian, his children, Brenda Riley Glisson, Steve Riley and his wife Edna, Greg Riley, and Barry Riley, all of Meridian. He is also survived by his grandchildren, April Glisson Turk and her husband Jerry, Brooke Riley, Kim Glisson, Sean Riley, Amber Riley, Callie Riley, and Elijah Riley, and a great grandchild, Sherry Turk, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Needam and Evie Riley, his brothers, H.C. Riley, Cotton Riley, Harold Riley, Ezra Riley, Robert Earl Riley, Tom Riley, his sisters, Evelyn Wright, Florence Hardin, Edith White, and a son in law, James "Butch" Glisson. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to the American Cancer Society or the Gideons. Visitation will be held Wednesday, March 16, 2011, from 5:00-8:00p.m., at Robert Barham Family Funeral Home.
