Funeral Services for Margie Smith will be held on Friday, April 19, 2019, at 3:00 at Robert Barham Family Funeral Home with Brothers David Deweese and Donald Gentry officiating.  Burial will be at Meridian Memorial Park with Robert Barham Family Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Margie Smith, age 97, of Collinsville , MS, passed away April 16, 2019 at Anderson’s Hospital in Meridian, MS.  She was born on March 22, 1922, in Chattanooga, TN and moved to Meridian at an early age. She worked in retail and was self-employed as a cosmetologist, upholsterer, and real estate agent.  She was an active member of Westwood Baptist Church for most of her life and joined Pine Forest Baptist Church in her senior years.

Survivors include her children: Patricia Branch of Collinsville , Mickey Thompson (Pam) of Collinsville , and Vicki Ford (Jimmy) of Meridian; Her grandchildren: Laura Byrd (George) of Grenada, Lynelle Smith of Collinsville , Zo Hernandez of Meridian, Sissy Gardner (Johnny) of Meridian, Eddie Branch of Henderson, NV, Camie Hurst (Dan) of Hickory, Stephanie White of Laurel, Jason Thompson of Meridian, Tori Rhodus (Chris) of Madison, and Jamie Ford Cooper of Meridian; Her brother: Arnold Higgins (Mary) of Fairfield Glade, TN; numerous great grandchildren and great great grandchildren .

She was preceded in death by her parents: Harry and Bridey Higgins, her siblings: Christine Lee, Juanita Hyde, Dorothy Clanton , Bessie Chandler, Joye Moody, and Harry Higgins, Jr.; her husbands, Herbert Thompson and Chester Smith, her granddaughter: Melinda Graves, great granddaughter , Erica Hernandez and two sons-in-law, Bill Branch and Hulon Davis.

The family requests memorials be made to: The American Heart Association, The American Cancer Society, or Gideons International.

Pallbearers will be: Jason Thompson, Eddie Branch, Kevin Espey , Davis Byrd, Tyler Smith, and Chris Birdsong.
