Memorial services for Mr. Mark “Doc” Heath will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, July 11, 2020 at Robert Barham Family Funeral Home.
Mark Heath, 63, of Meridian passed away July 7, 2020.
“Doc” was a veteran of the United States Air Force and Navy during the late 70s and 80s, was active during the Iran-Contra Affair, and received the Navy Expeditionary Medal and the Humanitarian Service Medal. Most recently, Doc was an auto technician at Stephon’s Auto Service in Marion. Doc was a jack-of-all-trades, helping to build houses, gunsmithing, and carpentry. Mark enjoyed restoring classic cars and hot rods and was an artistic individual who wrote poetry and created paintings and drawings. Many of the cars he restored were featured in magazines and at the National Corvette Museum in Bowling Green. Mark was a “collector of things,” an outdoorsman, and was well respected in the auto restoration community. He will be missed by those who knew him.
Mark is survived by his daughter, Jessica Clearman (Clay); his son, Joshua Zillig; his mother, Emma Ann Heath; his brothers, Allan Paul Heath and Thomas L. Heath (Donna Rose); and his long-time best friend, Stephon Price.
Mark was preceded in death by his father, Charles E. Heath.
