Martha Carolyn Swancey

Funeral services for Mrs. Martha Swancey will begin at 11:30 am Friday, July 17, 2020 at Robert Barham Family Funeral Home chapel with the Reverend Ben Jones officiating. Interment will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens. Robert Barham Family Funeral Home is honored to be entrusted with the arrangements.

Mrs. Swancey, 91, of Meridian, passed away Thursday, July 9, 2020 at Bedford Care Center of Marion.

Mrs. Swancey retired at 70 years old as a cardiac technician at Anderson Regional Medical Center after over 26 years of service. She was a faithful member of Northcrest Baptist Church and attended as long as her health permitted. She enjoyed gardening in her spare time and especially loved being with family.

Mrs. Swancey is survived by her three children, Carol Polk (Lonnie), Danny Swancey, and Terri Beddingfield (Charlie). Grandchildren, Dr. Archie Wright, Danny Swancey, Jr., Kyle Swancey, Tyler Wright, Michael Swancey, Brandon Beddingfield, Lauren White, Leslie Swancey, Charlotte Swancey, Morgan Swancey, and Caila Beddingfield, as well as 20 great-grandchildren, as well as, numerous special nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Martha is preceded in death by her parents Otho and Nola Jones; brothers, Spurgeon Jones and J.B. Jones; sisters, Clodell Dennis, and Robbie Mercy, as well as, the father of her children Charles Swancey.

Pallbearers will be Dr. Archie Wright, Tyler Wright, Danny Swancey, Jr., Kyle Swancey, Michael Swancey and Brandon Beddingfield.

The Swancey family requests memorials be made as donations to the Alzheimer’s Association in lieu of flowers.
