Martha C Monette

Graveside services for Mrs. Martha C. Monette will begin at 1:00 PM Thursday, February 8, 2024 at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens with Reverend Stanley Rawson officiating. Interment will follow graveside rites. Robert Barham Family Funeral Home is honored to be entrusted with the arrangements.

Martha passed away peacefully at the age of 75, Thursday, February 1, 2024, in Nashville, TN.

Martha was born and raised in Meridian, Mississippi.  She was a graduate of Meridian High School in 1966. After graduation, she worked for the telephone company for many years. She married the love of her life, L.C. Monette in 1976. Martha and L.C ultimately made a life in Nashville, TN with their daughter Tracy, but Meridian was always home to them.  Martha spent many years as a domestic engineer and then went back into the workforce in the 1990s working for McCloud’s Pest Control.  After retirement, she became a full-time grandmother.

Martha was an amazing wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend.  Her love for her children and grandchildren was unparalleled. Even while living with dementia her love for her family and her sense of humor never wavered.

Martha is survived by her daughter Tracy Pennebaker, her husband, Jeremy; and her son, Todd Monette his wife, Terri; her lovely granddaughters Hadley, Lennon, Tiffany, Victoria, and Jessica Michelle; and great-grandson Jackson. She is also survived by her brother Kenny Hurt and his wife Shirley.  She has many nieces and nephews that she loved dearly along with extended family members.

Martha is preceded in death by her husband L.C. Monette; and parents Roy and Clarice Hurt.

The family suggests memorials be made as donations to the Alzheimer's Association in lieu of flowers.
