Martha Warren Williams

August 14, 1930 — December 14, 2020

Private family services for Mrs. Martha Warren Williams will be held Wednesday, December 16, 2020 at the Purvis Family Cemetery with Rev. Kenneth Owen officiating.  Robert Barham Family Funeral Home is honored to be entrusted with arrangements.

Mrs. Martha Warren Williams, age 90, of Meridian, Mississippi passed away peacefully on Monday, December 14, 2020 at her home.

Martha was born August 14, 1930 to the late Rufus Lee, Sr. and Lena Neal Warren.  She graduated from Meridian High School and attended Meridian Junior College where she met and later married the man who would become the father of her children.  She retired from Meridian Production Credit Association after twenty-six years and soon thereafter started to work for the Grand Lodge of Mississippi F&AM for about seventeen years.  She was a long and faithful member of Highland United Methodist Church (now College Park UMC) where she served as children’s Sunday school teacher, sang in the choir, and served on numerous committees.  Upon her retirement, she joined the smocking class at the Adult Senior Citizens Center, and her great-grandchildren were the recipients of many beautiful heirloom pieces.  For all of her many accomplishments in life, she was most proud of her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Williams is survived by her son, Rick Williams (Sabrina); daughter, Lisa Kay Vickers (Ron); grandchildren, Michelle Mayfield (Robert), Angela Keith (Cyle), Lee Williams, Claire Vickers Adam (Gage), and Melanie Williams; great-grandchildren, Will, Aubrey, and Miley Mayfield, Brett and Weston Keith, and Hunter and Ella Williams; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Rufus Lee Warren, Jr.; and her children’s father, Richard G. Williams, Jr.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be shared with College Park United Methodist Church, 1103 Highway 19 N, Meridian, MS 39301.

The family would like to express sincere appreciation to Dr. William Reid, Dr. Casey Tillery, and the staff of the Internal Medicine Clinic for their many years of care, as well as the staff of Sta Home Hospice for their care for Mrs. Williams during her final days.
