Funeral services for Mr. Martin Gaddis will be held Saturday, December 28, 2024, at 2:00 PM at Robert Barham Family Funeral Home with Rev. Dale Moore officiating. Burial will follow at Sageville Methodist Church Cemetery.
Edwin Martin Gaddis Sr. passed away Tuesday, December 24, 2024, at Ochsner Rush Medical Center.
Martin graduated from Mississippi State University in 1963 with a degree in Electrical Engineering. He went on to work for numerous electrical companies and then finally retired from Rexel USA. After retirement he continued working as a private consultant for many years.
He was a lifelong member of Sageville Methodist Church, serving on numerous committees and boards. Martin was known for his knowledge of a broad range of subjects and service to others. He was generous with his gifts and talents, mentoring many young professionals. Martin was always tinkering with broken items, and repairing them, or making the part himself.
While he took pride in the home he designed and built for them, Martin was most proud of his family.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Marsha Gaddis, children; Phyllis Barrett (B.J.) and Edwin Gaddis Jr. (Rachel), grandchildren; Shae Stevens (James), Phillip Barrett (Heather), and David Barrett (Jessica), great-grandchildren; Chris Clark, Annabelle Stevens, Edith Barrett, Charlie Mae Stevens, Peyton Garner, Hannah Garner, and Reese Addy, brothers; Ben Gaddis (Sandy), Gilbert Gaddis (Lynn), and Scott Gaddis (Kathy), brothers-in-law; Jim Watson (Jan) and Mike Watson, sister-in-law; Sandy Spikes, and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents Edwin and Mary Lou Gaddis, brothers, Micky Gaddis and David Gaddis, father and mother-in-law, John and Gerry Watson.
The family request memorials be made to the East Mississippi Ramp Ministry at P.O. Box 541 Collinsville, MS 39325.
Pallbearers will be Phillip Barrett, David Barrett, James Stevens, Justus Humphries, Kevin Ross, Scott Ross, Tom Gaddis, and Ken Gaddis. Honorary pallbearers will be Chris Clark, Peyton Garner, Reese Addy, and Randy Williams.

Visitation will be held from 1:00 - 1:45 PM Saturday, December 28, 2024, at the funeral home prior to funeral services.
