Martin "Marty" Shelby

Memorial Gathering for Mr. Martin “Marty” Shelby will be from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm Tuesday, September 10, 2019 at 4465 Shelby Gressett Rd Toomsuba, MS 39364, Mr. Shelby’s residence. Robert Barham Family Funeral Home is honored to be entrusted with the arrangements.

Mr. Shelby, 69, of Toomsuba, passed away Saturday, September 7, 2019 at his home.

Marty was a logger for the majority of his life. He loved being outdoors and in the woods. He was a man with a generous heart and giving spirit always willing to help others, especially helping others mow their grass in the summer. He was known as papaw and peepaw by his seven grandchildren whom he adored. He also enjoyed riding his side by side and walking trails with his grandchildren whenever possible. He was a man of few words, yet when he spoke, many listened.

Mr. Shelby is survived by his children, Michelle Brown (William), Mary Ellen McAdoo (Brady), and William Shelby (Crystal). Grandchildren, Rowdy McAdoo, Georgie McAdoo, Shelby McAdoo, Levi Shelby, Madison Brown, Colt Shelby, and Wilbur McAdoo. Siblings, Betty Culpepper, Velma Barrett, and Robert Shelby; as well as a host of extended family and friends.

Marty is preceded in death by his parents, William and Hazel Shelby; and brother, W.C. Shelby.
