Funeral services for Mary McRae will be held Saturday, January 9, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. at Robert Barham Family Funeral Home Chapel, with Dr. John Temple and Rev. James Ruffin officiating. Burial will follow at Magnolia Cemetery with Robert Barham Family Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.

Mrs. McRae, age 86, of Meridian, passed away Saturday, January 2, 2016 at Bedford Care Center.

She was a longtime member of Poplar Springs Drive Baptist Church. She was active in WMU and as a Sunday School teacher, along with many other ministries at the church. She was a member of Meridian High School Band Boosters, the Meridian Symphony League, and other community organizations.

She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Robert Lee McRae; daughter, Janet Elizabeth McRae McKinlay and husband, Archibald McKinlay VI; son, Robert Steven McRae and wife, Mary Shelby Mayton McRae; and grandchildren, Archibald McKinlay VII, Margaret Elizabeth McKinlay, Michael McRae McKinlay and wife, Sara Flower McKinlay, Robert William McRae, and Mary Alison McRae.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Denson Patterson and Sarah Brown Patterson.

Pallbearers will be Bill Temple, Mac Temple, Tommy Temple, Michael McRae McKinlay, Robert William McRae, and Archibald McKinlay VII.

Honorary pallbearers will be Mary and Bob’s Sunday School classes at Poplar Springs Baptist Church.

In lieu of flowers, the family request memorials be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in Memphis, Tennessee.
