Mary Helen Sikes Graveside services for Mary Helen Sikes will be held Saturday, May 23, 2015, at 11:30 a.m. at Toomsuba Cemetery. Reverend Buddy Covington will officiate, with Robert Barham Family Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements. Mary Helen Sikes passed away on May 20, 2015, in Jackson, Mississippi after a lengthy illness. Mrs. Sikes was born June 10, 1926, in Butler, Alabama to the late Richard and Ophelia Covington. She was a retired cosmetologist. Helen enjoyed reading, sewing, crocheting, and working in her flower garden. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by Kisor Abston and Frank Long; two brothers, Curvin Covington and Richard Covington; and two sisters, Selma Hendrix and Kathryn Baldwin. Survivors include her daughters, Theressa Loyed and her husband, Bill, of Columbus, Mississippi, Amanda Kemp and her husband, Garner, of Toomsuba, Mississippi, and Gloria Wrenn and her husband, Jim, of Jackson, Mississippi; sons, Ranny Abston and his wife, Sandy, of Woodville, Texas, Dannis Abston and his wife, Sue, of Covington, Louisiana, and Reggie Abston of Meridian, Mississippi; a brother, Stuart Covington and sisters, Joyce Smith, Sue Campbell, Nalda Baldwin, and Pam May; fifteen grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Shayne Loyed, Michael Scott, Jimmy Robertson, Thomas Robertson, Woody Webb, and Bennie Lockhart. Memorials may be made to the charity of your choice.
