Mrs. Mary Frances Johns, age 90, of Pensacola, FL, passed away June 16, 2018 at Specialty Health and Rehab.
Frances was born and raised in Meridian, MS. She loved life, dancing and building memories. When working at the telephone company, she met the love of her life “Johnny”. They married and raised their daughters, Cindy and Jan. As a member of Midway Baptist Church, she taught Sunday school and sang in the choir. At West Lauderdale Elementary School she was a teacher’s aide and also held a customer service position at Peoples Bank. Later, Frances became an accomplished sales lady for her brother, Ken’s radio stations in Meridian and Hattiesburg, where she later moved.
Frances was loved by everyone. She never met a stranger. Her passion for dancing allowed her to share her joy and happiness. She would say “don’t stop moving or you’ll get old”. She’d jitterbug, two-step, waltz and line dance among the best.
In 2016 she moved to Pensacola, FL to be with her daughter, Cindy and her family, where she loved to go to the beach.
Though we will miss her, she wants us to remember the good times and keep dancing.
Survivors include her daughter, Cindy Small, son-in-law, Ronnie Small; grandsons, Allen Small, and Robert Teall; brother, Ken Rainey, Sr.; and a host of nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, RE “Johnny” Johns; daughter, Janet Lynn Teall Lopez; brothers, Tom Rainey Jr., Edward Rainey, Jim “Happy” Rainey, and Billy Rainey; sister, Bobbye Jean Imbrogullio.
Pallbearers will be Ricky Nicholson, Preston Nicholson, Alex Nicholson, Matt Truelove, Clay Truelove, John Michael McDonald, Ridge Haarala, Ken Rainey III, and Andy Rainey.
