Services for Mary Doris Lockhart will be held Sunday, January 5, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. at Robert Barham Family Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Mike Boles officiating. Burial will be in Long Creek Baptist Church Cemetery with Robert Barham Family Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Mrs. Lockhart, age 71, of Meridian, died Thursday, January 2, 2014 at Anderson Regional Medical Center. Survivors include her daughters, Beth Gist and husband, Scott Gist, Sr. of Meridian, and Dora Adcock and husband, Charles of Meridian; sons, Randy Culpepper and wife, Frankie of Stonewall and David Culpepper of Meridian; grandchildren, Jessica Townsend and husband, Sammy, Amber Culpepper, Abby Culpepper, Courtney Culpepper, Tyler Culpepper, Josh Culpepper, Scott Gist, Jr. and wife, Samantha, and Hunter Gist; great grandchildren, Hunter Townsend, Madison Gist, and Mason Gist; sisters, Vivian Culpepper and Maurice Jones and husband, Willie Joe; brothers, William Briggs and wife Liz, and Delvin Briggs and wife, Judy; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Benjamin Leo Lockhart; parents, Almond and Earline Briggs; and brother, Harston Briggs. The family request memorials be made to the Blair Batson Children Hospital in honor of Madison Gist. Visitation will be held Saturday, January 4, 2014 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
