Mary Blanche Robinson

Mary B. G. Robinson Services for Mary Blanche "Sis", "Big Mama", "Robbie", Godwin Robinson will be held Monday at 1 p.m. at Bucatunna Baptist Church with Revs. Derrick Simmons, Ronny Cooper and Leland Goodman officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery with Robert Barham Family Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Mrs. Robinson, 90, of Meridian , died Thursday, Nov. 12, 2009, at her residence. She was retired from Jeff Anderson Regional Medical Center . Mrs. Robinson began at Aldermills Manufacturing and was later accepted as a student at Matty Hersee as a Nurse's Aide and ended her career with Jeff Anderson Regional Medical Center after 28 years of service. She was a devoted member of Bucatunna Baptist Church . She was a devoted Christian, mother, sister, grandmother and friend. She was a member of the 1935 Beat Four State Champions Basketball Team and an avid fan of the sport. Mrs. Robinson never met a stranger and "Baby I Love You" was said to all. She will always be remembered as the light of our lives, an angel, and saint to all she meets. Survivors include her children, Jeweleen and Judson Stewart, Royce and Ann Robinson, Sandy Pate, Roger and Earline Robinson, Ronald and Jean Robinson, Rickey Robinson and Shelia and Wallace Mosley; grandchildren, Gay Knopp, Randy Stewart, Spencer Stewart, Brad Stewart, Ashley Robinson, Lavisa Glass, Mike Johnson, Dena Boyd, Eric Johnson, Daphne Rich, Sonia Farrar, Derrick Robinson, MaryBeth Praytor, Michelle Schooley, Corey Robinson, Sherrie Langford, Mandy Welch, Nichole Mosley and Justin Mosley; 35 great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren; many loving friends; and her two adoring dogs, JoJo and Lizzy. She was preceded in death by her parents, John Henry Godwin and Agnes Godwin; her husband, Earl Winfield Robinson; her brothers, Jesse Godwin, Charlie Godwin, Reed Godwin; and sisters, Nora Katherine Turner and Leslie Mae Mosley. The family requests memorials be made to Bucatunna Baptist Church Building Fund, 10806 County Road 514, Meridian, Miss. 39301 . Pallbearers will be her grandsons. Honorary pallbearer is Paul Mosley. Visitation will be Sunday, from 5 p.m.-8 p.m. at the funeral home, and Monday, 30 minutes prior to services at the church.
