Memorial services for Mary Ellyn Stinson will be held Wednesday, April 16, 2014, at 11:00 a.m. at Robert Barham Family Funeral Home, with Dr. Carl White officiating. There will be a private family burial at Stinson Cemetery with Robert Barham Family Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.

Mr. Stinson, 84, of Meridian died Saturday, April 12, 2014, at Anderson Regional Medical Center. Mrs. Stinson was a longtime member of Highland Baptist Church and sang in the choir until her later years. She loved her church family and her Sunday school class.

She retired from GMAC after thirty-five plus years of service and worked for Culpepper and Culpepper CPA's after her retirement.

Survivors include her son, Howard Parnell Stinson and his wife Pat of Meridian; a grandson, Joel H. Stinson and his wife Sarah of Birmingham, Alabama; a granddaughter, K. Claire and her husband Derek Taylor of New Albany, Mississippi; a niece, Susan and her husband, Dan Wright of Meridian and a sister, Matibeth and her daughter, Kathy.

She was preceded in death by her husband of more than fifty-years, Johnnie Howard Stinson; her parents, A.C. Parnell and his wife Kate and her sister, Rebecca Wolfram.

The family would like to thanks Dr. Doug Phillips for many years of compassionate care.
