Mary M Talley

Funeral services for Mrs. Mary M. Talley will begin at 1:00 PM Friday, May 30, 2025, at Jones Chapel Church of God with Reverend Ron Leonard officiating. Interment will follow graveside rites in the church cemetery. Robert Barham Family Funeral Home is honored to be entrusted with the arrangements.

Mrs. Talley, 81, of the Snell Community, died Monday, May 26, 2025, at the University of Alabama Birmingham Medical Center following a brief illness.

Mrs. Mary was a loving wife, mother, grandmother,  and devoted Christian. She was very patient and always steadfast in her faith. She was a devoted pastor's wife for over 60 years and lovingly served as a choir director, Sunday School teacher, and Vacation Bible School director for many years. Mary was also a proud survivor of breast cancer and shared her testimony with many men and women in need of encouragement through their cancer battle.  In her spare time, she was an avid reader and enjoyed knitting and crocheting; most of all, she enjoyed spending time being Meme and Grandma.

Mrs. Mary is survived by her husband of over 62 years, Reverend Donald E. Talley; children, Dan Talley (Debra) and Cynthia Luther (Emery); grandchildren, April Goodson (James), Alyssa Talley, Samuel Talley (Ashton), Anne Marie Talley, Paul Luther, Angel Luther, and Kristina Luther; 13 great-grandchildren; her brother, Ralph Bishop (Carol), as well as a host of nieces, nephews, and extended family members.

Mrs. Talley is preceded in death by her parents, Reverend Hugh and Dora Bishop; her son, David Talley; and her grandson, Benjamin Daniel Talley.
