Mary "Chick" Woods Weatherford

Ms. Weatherford, age 83 of Meridian, died Thursday, April 16, 2026, at Poplar Springs Health and Rehab.

Mary received her associate's degree from Meridian Community College. She worked as an LPN in several long-term care facilities in Meridian, MS, and York, AL. In her younger days, she enjoyed riding motorcycles with the neighborhood women, scuba diving, water skiing, and hanging out with her friends and family. She was known for her sense of humor and love of animals.

Survivors include her two daughters, Cindy Yarbrough and Wanda Dutton(Rusty), and granddaughter Cassie Dutton. Along with numerous cousins she loved dearly; as well as her lifelong friend, Elaine. 

She is preceded in death by her parents, Elinor Harris Woods and Eustace Rivers Woods, and her husband, John K. Weatherford
