Maureen Kathryn Alfred Sellers

A Service celebrating the life of Maureen Kathryn Alfred Sellers will begin at 11:30 AM Tuesday, December 30, 2025, at Collinsville First Baptist Church with Reverend Danny Hood officiating. The Sellers Family will receive guests from 10:00 AM until 11:30 AM prior to memorial services. Interment will follow graveside rites at Noon at FBC Collinsville Cemetery. There will also be a Celebration of Life Service beginning at 10:00 AM Friday, January 2, 2026, at Mount Zion Baptist Church in Harvest, Alabama. Robert Barham Family Funeral Home is honored to be entrusted with local arrangements.

Mrs. Sellers, 78, of Huntsville, AL died Tuesday, December 23, 2025, at Huntsville Hospital following an unexpected cardiac event.

“Mrs. Maureen” had her early years in New Orleans and was a proud nursing graduate of LSU. Geaux Tigers! She met her husband of 53 years in the New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary Bookstore. They married and she spent the rest of her life serving in hospitals and random Good Samaritan moments anywhere she was needed. Perhaps she was best known for her time at the piano. She began playing in church as a child and played until the day she died. Her family and close friends knew her for her countless hours in her “Prayer chair.” There are stacks of prayer journals filled with her prayers for her kids, grandkids, and really everyone else. She loved her family and friends well and was quick to share a cup of coffee and a “sweet.” She will be greatly missed by many.

Mrs. Maureen is survived by her husband of over 53 years, Dr. David L. Sellers; her sons, Mark and Jonathan; her daughters-in-love, Staci and Angie; and her grandchildren, Courtlin, Marianna, Andrew, Avery, Stella, Carson, Ava, and Lina.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Cameron and Norma Alfred; her brothers, Doug and Mark; and her Aunt Dorothy.

The Sellers family suggests, in lieu of flowers, memorials be made as donations to The Lottie Moon Christmas Offering at Collinsville First Baptist Church or Mount Zion Baptist Church.

Pallbearers will be Mark Sellers, Jonathan Sellers, Courtlin Sellers, Andrew Sellers, Carson Sellers, and Brent Pouncey.
