Maurice Dean Overby, Sr.

Funeral services for Mr. Maurice Dean Overby, Sr. will begin at 1:00 pm, Wednesday, March 27, 2019 at Stonewall United Methodist Church with Rev. Chris Cooksey officiating. Interment will follow at Stonewall Cemetery. Robert Barham Family Funeral Home is honored to be entrusted with the arrangements.

Mr. Overby, 84, of Enterprise, passed away Sunday, March 24, 2019 at his residence.

Mr. Maurice retired with over 33 years with Mississippi Power Company where he worked as a lineman and appliance repairman. He was an avid fan of the Ole Miss Rebels and especially enjoyed watching Atlanta Braves Baseball; He also was very supportive of local high school sports as long as he was able to attend. He was a member of Stonewall United Methodist Church.

Mr. Overby is survived by his sons, Mark Overby (Elizabeth), Dwayne Overby. Grandchildren, Tyler Overby (Lacy), Morgan Overby Jones (Colby), Hannah Overby and Madison Overby. Great grandchildren, Kamp Overby, Kade Overby, and Miles Jones. Siblings, Roy Overby, Sybil Overby Ivaldi, and Kenny Overby (Betty) as well as a host of nieces, nephews and friends.

Mr. Maurice is preceded in death by his wife, Hazel Vashti Touchstone Overby and his parents, Early and Hattie Overby. Sisters, Ruth Siler, Christine Robinson; brothers, Ernest Overby, Jessie Overby, Ray Overby, Leonard Overby, and Jimmie Overby.

The family request memorials be made to the Gideons International in lieu of flowers.

Pallbearers will be Don Overby, Mike Overby, David Overby, Dickie Overby, Rickie Overby and Nick Overby. Honorary Pallbearer will be Travis Goodwin.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm at the funeral home, Tuesday, March 26, 2019 and 30 minutes prior to service time at the church.
