Mazelle E Carlisle

Funeral services for Mrs. Mazelle Carlisle will begin at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, June 5, 2018 at Robert Barham Family Funeral Home Chapel with Reverends Malcolm Lewis, Richey Davis, and Danny Lanier officiating. Interment will follow at Magnolia Cemetery in Meridian, MS with Robert Barham Family Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.

The family will receive friends for visitation Monday, June 4, 2018 from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm at the funeral home.

Mrs. Carlisle, age 86, entered into the presence of her Lord Thursday, May 31, 2018 surrounded by her children and family in the Dalewood community where she long resided.

Mazelle was born in House, MS on December 21, 1931 and graduated high school at House High School. She retired as a registered nurse after giving over 60 years of service helping others. Mrs. Carlisle served alongside her pastor husband in numerous churches in Alabama, Mississippi, and Indiana. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Lauderdale, MS.

She is survived by her children; Roger Carlisle (Lynn), Sarah Evans, Sandra Bishop, Wanda Allen (Wayne), Chester Carlisle (Kathy); special friends and caregivers Kim and Jim Means; sisters, Thelma Fitzgerald, Clarice Rawson (Donnie); brother, Bobby Symonds; 11 grandchildren and numerous grands, nieces and nephews.

Mazelle is preceded in death by her husband, Reverend Roger Carlisle, Sr, and parents Chester and Vada Symonds and Clyde Townsend.

Pallbearers will be her grandsons.

In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials be given through the placement of Bibles through the Gideon International organization.
