Melissa Katherine "Missy" Thornhill

A funeral service for Missy Thornhill will be held Saturday, September 21, 2024, at 10:30 AM at Robert Barham Family Funeral Home. Robert Barham Family Funeral Home is honored to be entrusted with arrangements.

Melissa "Missy" Katherine Thornhill passed away on Saturday, September 14, 2024.

Missy was the daughter of Wayne and Sylvia Thornhill and little sister of Chuck Thornhill. Missy, originally from Meridian, graduated from Lassiter High School in Marietta, GA. Following graduation, Missy returned to Mississippi and joined the Air National Guard. Missy retired after 20 years of service. During her time Missy was one of the first women on ground in the Middle East for Operation Enduring Freedom, as well as providing medical support for other conflicts.

Missy is survived by a loving and grieving family: Chuck Thornhill, Jan Reynolds, Alan Holcomb, Matthew Thornhill and Kelly Thornhill. As well as a loving partner, Freddie Wooten and his daughters; Krystal Wooten and Kristen Branning.

A visitation will be held Friday, September 20, 2024, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Robert Barham Family Funeral Home.
