Melodie Jane Gressett

Melodie Jane Gressett, 69, of Meridian, MS, passed away Tuesday, May 5, 2026, at her home with her loving daughter by her side.

Funeral services will be held at a later date.

Melodie was a great mother to her daughter Summer, and she will be sorely missed.

She worked as the Office Administrator of Waters International Trucking Company for thirty years doing what she loved to do, talking with people. She never met a stranger and was always willing to lend a helping hand. She loved her job.

Melodie loved to visit multiple churches of all denominations finding Christ in all of them. She was very truly religious and there was nothing fake about her faith.

She was a cat grandmother. Melodie also enjoyed reading and going to the library on the weekends to select her next book.

She was known as the "Pink Lady" because of her pink hair. She even had a "Pink Lady" decal sticker on the back of her car.

She is survived by her daughter, Summer Gressett, her sister, Lou Davis (Terry), and her nephew Marc Davis (Jessie).

She was preceded in death by her fiancé, Brian Smith, and her parents, Jessie and Inez Beddingfield.
