Merita "Rita" H. Morse

Graveside services for Mrs. Merita “Rita” Morse will begin at 10:00 AM Wednesday, Octobert 16, 2024, at Gum Log Cemetery in Bailey, MS with the Reverends Dusty Webb and Kyle Naylor officiating. Interment will follow graveside rites. Robert Barham Family Funeral Home is honored to be entrusted with the arrangements.

Mrs. Morse, 81, of Bailey, died Sunday, October 13, 2024, at her home with her loving husband by her side.

Rita and Bob were the owners and operators of Little Acre in Meridian, MS for many years. Her customers were her joy and she always enjoyed visiting with each one. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Marion, MS where she faithfully attended as long as her health allowed.

Mrs. Rita is survived by her husband of over 42 years, Bob Morse; granddaughter, Ella Morse; a host of nieces, nephews, and extended family members, as well as, her adopted daughters, Frances Stephenson and Michelle Winstead.

Mrs. Morse is preceded in death by her parents, John and Mildred Hedgpeth; her son, John Morse; and her brother, John Wayne Hedgpeth.

Pallbearers will be Todd Ratcliff, Wayne Hedgpeth, Scott Culpepper, Chuck Dooley, Timothy Fisher, and Ward Calhoun.

The Morse Family suggests memorials be made as donations to The American Cancer Society in lieu of flowers.
