Memorial service for Michael Long will be held Saturday, May 28, 2022, 1:00 PM at Robert Barham Family Funeral Home with Bro. Tommy Espey officiating. Burial will be held Wednesday, June 8, 2022, at 11:00 AM at Mississippi Veterans Memorial Cemetery. Robert Barham Family Funeral Home is honored to be entrusted with arrangements. Mr. Michael Long, age 66, of Collinsville passed away Tuesday, May 24, 2022, at Rush Hospital. Michael was an native of Collinsville who graduated from West Lauderdale High School as Valedictorian. He served in the Army as a paratrooper for four years in the 82nd Airborne Division. He served 25 years with United Blood Services, while opening many branch offices, in Texas and California ending his career in Hattiesburg. Survivors include his mother, Arlene Williamson Baker; siblings, Linda Martin, Greg Long (Beverly), Jeff Long, and Brian Long; nieces, Mandy Jackson, Jacqui Long (Garrett), and Heather Ammon; nephews, Hunter Long and Jay Johnson; numerous cousins and extended family and friends. Also, his special dog, Lesko. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Long and Jeff and Esther Williamson. The family asks that memorial donations be made to Mississippi Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Newton, Mississippi. Visitation will be held Saturday, May 28, 2022, from 11:00 AM to 12:45 PM, at the funeral home prior to service.
