Michael Joseph Rebeles

Mr. Rebeles, 55, of Collinsville, passed away on Thursday, April 23, 2020 at Specialty Hospital of Meridian.

Michael loved to fish and hunt, but most importantly, he loved to spend time with his family. He graduated in 1982, from Meridian High School. Michael served in the Air Force, worked at Matty Hersee as a maintenance technician, transferred and became a receiving clerk for Lauderdale County Board of Supervisors. At Lauderdale County he worked for 25 years and retired in 2010. He was known as “Taco” to everyone who knew him. After retirement Michael became a stay at home dad, lovingly taking care of his family. Michael was actively involved with baseball practices, games, dance lessons, recitals, and many band activities.  He loved to share stories of his youth and young adult years, telling tales of his shenanigans.

He is survived by his wife of 23 years, Anita Dallas Rebeles; children, Robye Rebeles, Joseph Rebeles, and Miller Rebeles; siblings, Candace Dunlap (Mark), Ronnie Womack, Dezeree Deguzman (Derek); step-brother, Jeff Palmer (Karen); and numerous nieces, nephews, friends, and his extended Dallas family, whom he loved very much.

Mr. Rebeles was preceded in death by his father, Richard Joseph Rebeles; his mother, Shirley Faye Evatt Palmer; and his stepfather, Sonny Palmer.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to Collinsville United Methodist Church.

The family of Mr. Michael Joseph Rebeles will hold a memorial service at a later date. Robert Barham Family Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.
