Funeral services for Mrs. Mildred C. Brown will be Wednesday, August 4, 2021 at 1:00 p.m. at Robert Barham Family Funeral Home with Rev. Chuck Overby officiating. Burial will follow at Fellowship Baptist Church Cemetery. Robert Barham Family Funeral Home is honored to be entrusted with arrangements.

Mrs. Mildred C. Brown, 95, of Meridian, Mississippi passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 1, 2021.

Lovingly known as Granny, Mrs. Brown enjoyed gardening and growing flowers. But her passion resided in caring for her family. She often shared her love for them with a home cooked meal, corn bread and chicken and dumplings being a family favorite. Granny was the heart and soul of her family and will be deeply missed and memories of her lovingly cherished.

Mrs. Brown is survived by her special grandson, Bruce Akin (Joy) of Meridian; her daughters, Joyace Thatcher (Gary) of Georgia and Ilene Massey (Ronnie) of Mississippi; her son, Wayne Brown (Judy) of Alabama; two sisters, Thelma Tolbert and Johnnie Reid both of Mississippi; granddaughter, Angelia Boucher (Mike) of Georgia; seven great-grandchildren with two special great-granddaughters, Stephanie Shular (Lee) of Mississippi and Brittany Armond (Terry) of Texas; numerous great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Sam Reid and Cannie Calvert; her husband, John Clark Brown; daughters, Judy Brown and Catherine "Faye" Martinez; sons, Robert L. Brown, David E. Brown, and J.L. Brown; grandchildren, Ricky Harris and Mitzy Adams Underwood; and a brother, Sam Reid.

Pall bearers will be Tommy and John Ethridge, Lee and Dylan Shular, Terry Armond, and Rusty Underwood.

The family will receive friends from 11:30 until 12:45 p.m. prior to the funeral at Robert Barham Family Funeral Home.
