Graveside services for Mildred Herndon Garrett will be held Sunday, October 20, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens in Meridian, MS with Robert Barham Family Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements. Mrs. Garrett, age 100, of Clinton, MS, died peacefully Thursday, October 17, 2013, at her residence with her children by her side. Mrs. Garrett will be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She is survived by her children, Sue Garrett of New Orleans, LA, Jesse Garrett (Ricki) of Clinton, MS, and Debbie Boswell of Meridian; grandchildren, Richard Hunter (Sunny) of Las Vegas, NV, Walker Garrett (Yvonne) of Huntsville, AL, Oliver Garrett (Valerie) of Burbank, CA , Matthew Green (Shannon) of Cypress, TX, and Brandi Boswell Smith of Meridian; great-grandchildren, Caden Garrett Smith of Meridian, Lylah Green of Cypress, TX, and Alexandra DeLeon of Huntsville, AL; and special nephews, Tom Mixon of New York, NY, and Melvin Herndon (Pat) of Eutaw, AL. She was preceded in death by husband, J. I. (Jabo) Garrett; parents, Tommy and Lela Herndon; sister, Laura Mixon; brothers, Esmal Herndon, Bernard Herndon, and Frank Herndon; granddaughter, Angela Schnoor; and nephew, Clyde Mixon, Jr. Pallbearers will be her grandsons.
