Funeral services for Mildred (Millie) Jeffares will be held Wednesday, March 26, 2014, at 11:00 a.m. at Robert Barham Family Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Charles Swann officiating. Burial will be in Magnolia Cemetery with Robert Barham Family Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.
Mrs. Jeffares, 90, of Meridian passed away on Sunday, March 23, 2014, at the home of Patricia Rush in DeKalb, Mississippi. She was born on August 29, 1923, and attended Lynville High School. After graduating from high school she joined the Navy for two years. After returning to Meridian she married James H. Jeffares. Mrs. Jeffares was retired from Mississippi Power Company.
She is survived by nieces, Patricia Rush of DeKalb, Mississippi, Sandra Hooper of Erin, Tennessee, Carol Ann Pait of Orlando, Florida, Marlene Martin of Greenville, South Carolina and Sara Moore of Valdosta, Georgia; nephews, Bill Simmons of Savannah, Georgia, Roger Simmons, Jr. of Orlando, Florida and Tommy Sellars of Greenville, Mississippi; three God sons, Alan Evans, Randy Evans and Danny Evans all of Meridian and numerous great-nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her mother and father Inie and Andrew Sellars; her husband, James H. Jeffares; sisters, Margaret Henson and Minnie Bell Simmons; brother, Walters Sellars, Jim Henry Sellars and Elton Sellars and nephew, Ralph Simmons.
Pallbearers will be Alan Evans, Randy Evans, Danny Evans, Andrew Evans, James Stephens and John Adam Hudspeth. Honorary pallbearers will be George (Sonny) Evans and Gerald Long.

Visitation will be held Wednesday from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home.
