Graveside services for Minnie Jean Burns will be held Friday, December 30, 2016, at 11:00 a.m. at Meridian Memorial Park, with Brother Jack Kern officiating. Robert Barham Family Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Mrs. Burns, age 86, formerly of Long Beach, MS, passed away December 28 at Wisteria Manor in Quitman.

Minnie Jean was born and raised in Lauderdale County and was a graduate of Meridian High School. She was a loving caregiver by nature and devoted her life to being a homemaker and raising her children. In her later years, she took great care of her husband during his lengthy illness, making sure he was able to remain at home.

She is survived by her son, Robert Burns; sister, Dorothy Boswell Espey; niece, Kay Lee; three great-nieces, a great-nephew, and numerous cousins.

She was preceded in death by her husband, William Clyde Burns; son, William Lowery Burns; and parents, Elbert and Annie Mae Boswell.

The family requests memorials be made to the charity of their choice.
