Graveside services for Minnie Espey will be held Sunday, December 27, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. at Meridian Memorial Park Cemetery with Reverend Tommy Espey officiating. Robert Barham Family Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Mrs. Espey, age 89, of Collinsville, passed away Wednesday, December 23, 2015 at the Christa House.

She worked for Bernley’s Shirt Factory in Meridian for many years. After a time at Van Zyverden Bulbs she retired to stay at home to tend her garden and flowers, enjoying camping and traveling and enjoying time with her family. She will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother.

She is survived by sons, Robert “Bobby” Espey of Summerfield, Florida, and James Kenneth Espey (Angie) of Collinsville; daughter, Rita Joyce Rumery (Don) of Ocean Springs, Mississippi; grandchildren, Scott Rumery (Kim), Joshua Espey, Abbie Espey, and Damian Rumery; great-grandchildren, Chelsea, Blake, Drew, and Marley Rumery; sister, Dorothy Matlock; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Weldon Ulma Espey; parents, Jessie Benjamin Roberts and Alma Doener Roberts; sisters, Viola Lovett, Lee Berta Hatley, and Edna Earl Ishee; brothers, Jessie “Jake” Roberts, Willie “Duck” Roberts, James “Runt” Roberts, and James Marvin Roberts; and granddaughter, Kimberly Espey.

Pallbearers will be her grandsons and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, the family request memorials be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
