Private Services celebrating the life of Miyako McCloud – Hopson, MD will be conducted Monday, March 8, 2021 at Robert Barham Family Funeral Home with Elder Tommy E Hopson officiating. Interment will follow at Pilgrim Rest Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery in Porterville. Robert Barham Family Funeral Home is honored to be entrusted with the arrangements.

Dr. McCloud entered into Heavens Gate’s on Friday, March 5, 2021 at her home surrounded by her loving family.

Dr. McCloud was born in St. Louis, MO to David and Espanolia McCloud on January 4, 1967. She went on to Medical School at Washington University in St. Louis with highest honors and also did her internship at Harvard University. She then attended Rush Medical College in Chicago, IL where she studied for nine years graduating with honors. She completed her residency at Henry Ford Medical Center. She began practicing Medicine with Rush Foundation Hospital in June of 1998 where she worked until her passing. She always enjoyed meals with family, traveling, and mentoring young people at any opportunity. Having dedicated her life to Christ at a young age, she loved studying His word, and was faithful unto God until her death. She loved having time in the Word with her husband and family daily. Dr. McCloud will be greatly missed by all who knew her and will be in their hearts forever.

Dr. McCloud-Hopson is survived by her loving husband, and best friend, of 22 years, Dr. Donald Hopson; children Donathan T. Hopson, Lateria D. Hopson, and Rayshun T. Hopson. 11 grandchildren; best friends, Shirley Roberts and Charlotte Owens Moore, as well as a host of extended family members and friends.

Dr. McCloud is preceded in death by her parents David and Espanolia McCloud.

The family suggests memorials be made as donations to the American Cancer Society or to a church or charity of your choice in lieu of flowers.
