Myra Elizabeth Kindred, née Tindle, passed away on October 26, 2026, at age 88, surrounded by her daughters and her chaplain.

Born in Quitman, Mississippi, she moved to Houston at age 18, where she spent much of her adult life. She later returned to Mississippi, where she lived for 20 years before moving to Weslaco, Texas, where she spent her final six years.

Elizabeth had a lifelong love of medicine and took great pride in serving as an EMT in Manvel, Texas. Her family affectionately called her "Dr. Liz." Outspoken and direct, she said what was on her mind and rarely left anyone guessing where she stood.

Known as "Grandma Liz" to her granddaughters, Elizabeth loved traveling to Mexico and enjoyed country music. Freddy Fender, Conway Twitty, and Johnny Lee were among her favorites, and their songs will always bring her to mind.

She is survived by her daughters, Renee Perko and Robin Hermans, and her four granddaughters, Ashlei, Samantha, Ava, and Lillian. She was preceded in death by her mother, Bernice Mae Patton, and her father, Benjamin Franklin Tindle.

A graveside service will be held Saturday, November 7, 2026, at 10 a.m. at Cooper's Chapel in Quitman, Mississippi. Robert Barham Family Funeral Home is honored to be entrusted with arrangements.
