Myrna Lynn Morgan Burt

Memorial services for Mrs. Myrna Burt will be held Thursday, December 7, 2017, at 2:00 p.m. at Robert Barham Family Funeral Home with Reverend Donald Talley officiating. Robert Barham Family Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.

Mrs. Burt, age 70, passed away, December 4, 2017, at Specialty Hospital of Meridian.

Myrna Burt was a successful business woman who managed businesses in Louisiana and Mississippi. She was an amazing cook whose soul food left every plate clean. Through the years she perfected every family member’s favorite dish. She was an incredible storyteller who loved to spin yarns of yesteryear and highlight the innocence of the 50s and 60s. She also had a plethora of stories about the antics and adventures of her and her husband, Billy, and their crazy cat, George.

She loved and was loved and we will miss her greatly

She is survived by her children, William A. “Andy” (Melissa) Burt and Kristi (Scott) Kelly; grandchildren, Ty Thompson and Elah Thompson; and her brother, Terry Morgan.

She was preceded in death by her husband of thirty-eight years, Billy Burt; and her parents, Willie and Elah Morgan.

The family requests memorials be made to the Lauderdale County Animal Shelter and the American Diabetes Association.
