Myrtis Marie Newton Townsend Williams Services for Mrs. Williams will be held Wednesday, August 10, 2011, at 11:00 a.m. at Pine Forest Baptist Church, with burial in Pine Forest Baptist Church Cemetery. Robert Barham Family Funeral Home will be in charge of the arrangements. Mrs. Williams, 86, was born April 8, 1925 in Shucktown, MS to Martha Esther and Devro Turner Newton. Mrs. Williams was a member of Pine Forest Baptist Church and retired from NAS Meridian after 33 years. Mrs. Williams will be remembered as a loving Christian wife, Mother, Granny and GG to her family. She was loved by everyone who met her and loved all her family and friends. Her smile would light up a room and always made you feel special. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends. Survivors include her husband, Hershel Williams, her daughter, Martha Williams and husband Terry of Collinsville, a son, Michael P. Townsend and wife Pat of Bailey, her son Leon Williams and wife Stephanie of Nashville, TN and her daughter Karen Bryant and husband Ken of Creola, AL Her grandchildren, Misty Atkinson, husband Sander and great grandsons, Tucker, Griffin and Maddox of Collinsville; grandson, Bradley Williams of Sumrall, MS; grandson John Townsend, wife Shelley and great grandson, Will of Pontotoc, MS; granddaughter, Jessica Townsend. Grandchildren Jennifer Evans and husband Stephen, great grandchildren: Wess, Gunnar, Sydney and Sam of Carthage, MS; Ashley Taylor and her husband Mark, great grandchildren Rheagan and Riley of Flowood, MS; Grandchildren Melanie and Neal Smith of Creola, AL; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by husband, Prentiss M. Townsend and grandson, James P. Townsend; Sisters Gladys Boswell, Nora Avara, Anna Edwards, Jewel Coker, Helen Spivey; brothers Vid, Charles, and James Newton; Mother and Father Martha Esther and Devro Newton. The family would like to thank the staff of Sta-Home Hospice for all their love and care. A special thanks to Lindsey, Doris, Louise, Dr. Kent Darsey and Brother Bob for their loving and caring ways and professional service. A heartfelt thanks to the "Women of the Collinsville Methodist Church" for their ministry of love and visits. Thanks to Betty Doerner for her visits and wonderful meals and to Elois for sitting with and her caring ways and to our church family, Pine Forest Baptist, for loving us and caring for us during this very difficult time.
