Nancy Dungan Sanders

Funeral services for Mrs. Nancy Dungan Sanders will begin at 12 Noon, Thursday, February 27, 2025, at First Baptist Church, Marion, MS with Bro. Kyle Naylor officiating. Interment will follow at Chapel Hill Cemetery in Porterville, MS. Robert Barham Family Funeral Home is honored to be entrusted with the arrangements.

Mrs. Sanders, 94, of Deatsville, AL, formerly of Meridian, MS, died Friday, February 21, 2025, at Baptist South Hospital in Montgomery, AL.

Mrs. Nancy was born and raised in Chilhowie, VA, where she graduated high school and met her husband, Wayne Sanders. They married and moved to Meridian, MS, where they started their family and careers. Mrs. Nancy was first and foremost a Christian and dedicated to serving the Lord. She attended and served at State Boulevard Baptist Church, Meridian, MS, and First Baptist Church Marion, MS.  Her work as a teacher assistant at Northeast Elementary and Middle Schools touched thousands of lives.  She had a passion for serving others.

Mrs. Nancy is survived by her children, David Sanders (Kim) and Sue Ellen Ballard (Mickey); her grandchildren, Bo Harper, Brooke Sanders, Jake Ballard; her great-grandson, Kyle Harper; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, and extended family members and friends.

Mrs. Sanders is preceded in death by her husband, Wayne; her parents, Marvin and Mary Eliza Heath Dungan; her siblings, William T. Dungan, Sanders J. Dungan, Payne R. Dungan, Helen D. McRae, Elizabeth D. Tilley, Louise D. McClung, Ada D. Powers, Polly D. Furr, Muriel D. Hopkins, as well as two infant siblings.

The Sanders family suggests memorials be made as donations to the Gideon's International or Samaritan's Purse in lieu of flowers.
