Nannie Marie Vick

Funeral services for Mrs. Nannie Marie Vick will begin at 11:00 am Monday, September 14, 2020 at Robert Barham Family Funeral Home chapel with Reverend Tommy Jones officiating. Interment will follow at Liberty Baptist Church Cemetery in Kemper County. Robert Barham Family Funeral Home is honored to be entrusted with arrangements.

Mrs. Vick, 97, of De Kalb passed away, Saturday, September 12, 2020 at North Pointe Rehab in Meridian.

Mrs. Nannie was independently active all through her 80’s and cared for her own lawn until she was 89. Her hobbies included sewing, especially quilting. Her quilts won numerous awards through the years at the State Fair of MS; each of her grandchildren have received a quilt for their wedding gift. Mrs. Vick was a faithful and dedicated member of West Kemper Baptist Church until she was physically unable to attend. She was known to her family as Mamaw Ree and was referred to by most of her caretakers as “Mamaw”. Mrs. Nannie married into a family of 15 children, who have all passed away now, and she was the last remaining spouse of all 15.

Mrs. Vick is survived by her children Jackie Stephens (Paul) and Jay Vick (Karon). Grandchildren Brooke Thompson (Mark), Erin Platt (Boyd), Cody Stephens, Kyle Vick (Kim), Jessica Bain (Patrick), and Jordan Vick. Great-grandchildren, Makayla, Malachi, and Micah Thompson; Mackenzie, Mason, and Mabry Lynn Platt; Deakon Vick, and Josh Randall as well as a host of nieces, nephews, and extended family members.

Mrs. Nannie is preceded in death by her husband, G.B. “Jack” Vick; parents, John and Martha Frances Jay; and siblings, Ernest Goodman and Willie Jay.

The family suggest memorials be made as donations to Liberty Baptist Church Cemetery Fund or to the Gideon’s International in lieu of flowers.

Pallbearers will be Billy Vick, Mickey Vick, Elwood Vick, Raymond Massey, David Darnell, and Unrue Goodman.

The family would like to give their heartfelt love and thanks to the staff of North Pointe Rehab for their loving care of her for the last four and a half years.

The Vick family will receive guests from 4:00 pm – 6:00 pm Sunday, September 13, 2020 at the funeral home. Facial coverings are required prior to admittance.
