A memorial service to honor the life of Neeta Sanders will be held at noon on Saturday, December 9, 2023 at Robert Barham Family Funeral Home with burial to follow at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens. Ben Skipper, her great-nephew, will officiate the services. Robert Barham Family Funeral Home is honored to be entrusted with arrangements.
Neeta Sanders, age 92, passed away December 01, 2023, at Brookdale Senior Living in Meridian.
She was born June 27, 1931, to Laurence Curtis Skipper and Sallie Slaughter Skipper of Kemper County, MS.
Neeta was preceded in death by her loving husband of 63 years, Lt. Col. Robert Curtis Sanders, Sr.
She leaves behind a legacy cherished by her four children: Diane Sanders, Robert Sanders, Jr., Greg Sanders (and wife Young), Karen Gladstone (and husband Barry); five grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.
Neeta dedicated many years of her life to Trinity Presbyterian Church in Meridian, where her spiritual journey flourished. Her commitment extended to community involvement through the Ben Arthur Davis Garden Club and Galaxy Literary Club, which worked closely with Merrehope. Neeta's active engagement further extended to organizations such as WMU, Acteens, Girl Scouts, and Cub Scouts.
The family suggests sharing memorial contributions with The Care Lodge or The Wesley House.
