Neva Jean Summerlin Services for Neva Jean Summerlin will be held Friday, August 28, 2015, at 11:00 a.m. at Robert Barham Family Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be at First Baptist Church of Collinsville Cemetery on Hamrick Road. Robert Barham Family Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. Mrs. Summerlin, age 75, longtime resident of Meridian, passed away Tuesday, August 25, 2015, at Brookdale Meridian, formerly Silverleaf Manor. Mrs. Summerlin graduated from McAdams High School. She was a member of Midway Baptist Church, where she served in many different capacities including, Women's Missionary Union, Sunday school teacher, Meals on Wheels, Vacation Bible School, and the baptism committee. She also served as church secretary for Arrowood Baptist Church. Her hobbies included sewing, cooking, and homemaking. She enjoyed traveling with her family. Survivors include children, Rev. Huey LaVerne Summerlin and wife, Gail, of Magnolia, MS; Jeffrey Glenn Summerlin and wife, Ginger, of Front Royal, VA; Sheila Dianne Hamilton and husband, Tim, of Caledonia, MS; Gregory Alan Summerlin and companion, Jeanette Dearman, of Meridian, MS; grandchildren, David Allan Summerlin, Natalie Shea Summerlin, Lindsey Michael Summerlin, Jessica Lauren Livingston and husband, Bobby, Timothy Jacob Hamilton, Kelsey Amber Summerlin and partner, Nikki Savage, Alex Kase Summerlin, and Noah Graham Summerlin; great-grandchildren, Alexa Grace Hamilton, Kyndel Renae Barksdale, Chaney Livingston, Brice Livingston, and Rykan Savage; brothers, Donald Williams and wife, Katherine and Phillip Williams and wife, Mary, all of Kosciusko, MS; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Huey P Summerlin and parents, Rev. Thomas Earl Williams and Ester Williams. The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to their mother's very dedicated caregivers, Ora Lee "Cookie" Ruffin and Nary Ruffin. Family request memorials be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 196 Charmant Drive Suite 4, Ridgeland, MS 39157. Pallbearers will be Alex Summerlin, Noah Summerlin, Jacob Hamilton, Tim Hamilton, Mike Jenkins, and John Eakes.
