Nicholas Cain Johnson

May 2, 1980 — January 26, 2020

Nicholas “Cain” Johnson, age 39, of Meridian Mississippi passed away on Sunday January 26, 2020.

Cain was born and spent most of his life in Meridian, MS where he grew up in a large Catholic family.  He attended Northeast School, where he was known for being friendly to all.  He was a gifted drawer and had a knack for taking things apart, figuring out how they work, and putting them back together. He had an unforgettable warm smile and gentle eyes which gave window to his kindhearted spirit.  His laugh was contagious and could light up any room.  He was an avid music lover and could easily cite the lyrics of any classic rock song.  Music and nature are where he found his peace.  Whether it be an elderly person or a young child, he loved meeting new people and never met a stranger.  He was deeply intuitive and always looked for the best in everyone he encountered.   He loved his family fiercely and found great joy and serenity in being an uncle.

Survivors include: father, John O’ Neil Johnson Jr “Johnny”; mother, Ann Stockton Reed (Glen); siblings, John O’Neil Johnson III (Helene), Christopher “Blaise” Johnson, Erin Smith (Lee), Caroline Johnson, Casey Reed, Dustin Reed, Olivia Reed, Ave Kate Reed, and Lily Reed; aunts and uncles, Susan and Larry Hicks, Robert Stockton, Gayle and Sonny McCarra, Jimmy and Tracy Stockton; and 7 nieces and nephews, Kendall Johnson, John O’Neil Johnson IV, Hammett Johnson, Amelia Smith, Stella Smith, Charlotte Smith, Camelia Johnson.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, John O’Neil and Gift Johnson, Andy and Carryl Stockton; brother, Ian Johnson; aunt, Karen Stockton; and his uncle, Steven Johnson.
