Nina Mae Posey

A graveside service for Mrs. Nina Mae Posey will be held on Friday, June 5, 2026 at 1:30 p.m. at Old Marion Cemetery with Rev. Jack Kern officiating. The family will receive friends prior to the graveside service from 11:30 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at Robert Barham Family Funeral Home.

Mrs. Nina Mae Posey, age 98, of Meridian, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Monday, June 1, 2026.

Nina was born February 29, 1928 to the late Robert and Evie Pierce. She was raised on a cotton farm in Neshoba County. At the age of 16, she married the love of her life, Reuben Posey, and had four sons by the age of 22. Two daughters were added to the family a few years later. She was a devoted homemaker and enjoyed gardening, tending to flowers, and listening to Jimmy Swaggert. Throughout her life, she consistently pointed her children and grandchildren to Jesus.

Mrs. Posey is survived by her children, David Posey (Linda), Ricky Posey (Rhonda), and Delmer Posey (Leslie); twelve grandchildren; twenty-four great-grandchildren (and two on the way); and four great-great-grandchildren; her daughter-in-law, Lynn Posey; her sons-in-law, Don Yeates and Rory Brantley; a brother, Bobby Pierce (Thelma); as well as many beloved nieces and nephews.

Nina was preceded in death by her husband, Reuben; her parents, Robert and Evie Pierce; her children, Ronnie Posey, Shelia Yeates, and Cindy Brantley; and her siblings, Robert Clois Pierce, Franklin Pierce, and Ima Lois Harlow.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests sharing memorial contributions with Gideon's International.
