Norma Jean Gist Mrs. Gist's wishes were granted by having a private family graveside service on Saturday, June 2, 2012 at the Gist Family Cemetery. The family officiated the service and Robert Barham Family Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements. Mrs. Gist, 72, of the Causeyville Community died Thursday, May 31, 2012, at Rush Hospital. She was born in Pyror, Oklahoma in 1940 and retired as an accountant from Rea, Shaw, Giffin and Stuart. Survivors include her husband John C. Gist, Sr., sons John C. Gist, Jr. and wife Lynda of Lauderdale, Scott H. Gist, Sr. and wife Beth of Meridian, daughter Cinde Gist of Home of Hope, grandsons Scott H. Gist, Jr. and wife Samantha of Meridian, Brooks Gist and wife Michelle of Charlotte, North Carolina, Eric Gist and wife Amy of Meridian, and Hunter Gist of Meridian, and great-grandchildren Madison and Mason Gist, Abby Gist of Newton and James Gist of Charlotte North Carolina, and Gibson Gist of Meridian. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to the Blair Batson Children's Hospital in honor of great-grandchildren Madison and James Gist.
