Private family graveside services for Norma Rigdon Johnson will be held Friday, May 1 st at Mt. Nebo Cemetery with Rev. Joshua Ward, Rev. Brandon McGowin, Rev. Anthony Mansfield and Rev. Rodney Baker officiating. Robert Barham Family Funeral Home is honored to be entrusted with the arrangements.
Norma Rigdon Johnson, age 84, of Meridian, Mississippi passed away April 28, 2020 at Anderson Regional Medical Center.
Norma was a member of Abundant Life Tabernacle for many years while residing in Meridian, her hometown. Norma and her late husband always made it a priority to find a Pentecostal church and become active members around the country wherever his job assigned him. Norma knew the value of being rooted in the service of God and connecting with His people. Norma worked multiple retail jobs including Marks-Rothenberg, Huntington Park Menswear, and Mr. Discount Drugs.
Mrs. Johnson is survived by her daughters, Debbie Weir and Sherry (Kerry) Ward; her grandchildren, Alicia (Scott) White, Dana (Rob) Richardson, Joshua (Rachael) Ward, and Kristina (Brandon) McGowin; her great-grandchildren, Fallon (Seth) House, Carrington Hughes, Ryleigh Richardson, Cooper Richardson, Braydon McGowin, Rigdon Ward, Olivia McGowin, Lydia Ward, and Jett McGowin; her sister, Wyvette Overby; and a host of nieces, nephews, and extended family members.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Ray Edward Johnson; her son, Marvin Roy Johnson; her great-granddaughter, Bella Irene Ward; a son-in-law, George Weir; and nine siblings.
Pall bearers will be Kerry Ward, Scott White, Rob Richardson, Joshua Ward, Brandon McGowin, and Chuck Overby.
