Norma J. Long

Funeral services for Mrs. Norma J. Long will begin at 12:00 PM Friday, August 9, 2024, at Midway Baptist Church with Reverend Michael Pogue officiating. Interment will follow graveside rites at Meridian Memorial Park Cemetery. Robert Barham Family Funeral Home is honored to be entrusted with the arrangements.

Mrs. Long, 94, of Meridian, died Monday, August 5, 2024, at The Oaks Health and Rehab Center in Meridian.

Norma worked for over 32 years at Sears in Meridian, working in several departments, prior to her retirement. She always enjoyed visiting and assisting her customers in any way. She was a long-time member of Midway Baptist Church where she faithfully attended as long as her health permitted. She was also a member of the Faithful Sunday School Class. She loved gardening and tending her flowers in her spare time, as well as sewing for family and friends.

Mrs. Long is survived by her daughter, Wanda Key; grandson, John Bryan McAlister, II (Danielle); great-grandsons, Miles Christian McAlister and Caleb Brant McAlister; one great-granddaughter, Brynlee Glo McAlister; her special friend, Sandra Shelton (Wayne), as well as a host of cousins, extended family members, and friends.

Mrs. Norma is preceded in death by her mother, Anna Rasberry Eastburn Bryan; her father, Lewis Eastburn; and her grandparents, Ollie and Ellie Rasberry.

The Long family suggests memorials be made as donations to Midway Baptist Church Music Ministry in lieu of flowers.
