Olin Hugh Doerner

Funeral services for Mr. Olin Doerner will be held Friday, March 2, 2018, at 2:30pm at Robert Barham Family Funeral Home, with Reverend Donald Gentry officiating. Burial will follow at Pine Forest Baptist Church Cemetery. Robert Barham Family Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.

Mr. Doerner, age 84, of the Martin Community, passed away Tuesday February 27, 2018, at Rush Foundation Hospital.

Mr. Doerner proudly served his country in the U.S. Army. He retired from Long Wholesale. He was also a member of Pine Forest Baptist Church.

The family would like to thank the staff of Rush Foundation Hospital ICU North for the care they provided during Mr. Doerner’s final days.

He is survived by his daughter, Terri Gentry (Roy); son, Ronnie Doerner (Rhonda); grandchildren, Dale Long (Sha), Justin Gentry, Terra Demers (Joe); great-grandchildren, Vincent and Raylee Long and Isabella and Lucian Demers; step sister, Wilda Gibson (Glenn); sisters-in-law, Dorothy Doerner and Betty Doerner; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Willie T. and Claudia Adams Doerner; step-mother, Lena Doerner; brothers, Duluth Doerner, Wilton Doerner, and Edwin Doerner; nephew, Donnie Doerner; and his niece DeAnn Wood.

The family requests memorials be made to St Jude Children’s Research Hospital and/or the Blair E. Batson Children’s Hospital.
