Olivia "Wickie" Thomas passed from our arms and into the arms of Jesus for eternal life on January 8, 2022, at Rush Foundation Hospital. Wickie was born in Jackson, Mississippi, to Kendall Banks Moore and Catherine Whittington Moore on January 2, 1948. Her life was filled with love, family, and tradition. She will always be remembered for the great care, affection, and kindness she showed to everyone she met. Her belief in helping others thrust her into the medical field as a nurse and marketing director in Meridian and Jackson.
Wickie married the love of her life, Ronald "Butch" Thomas, on June 19, 1965, and they raised three sons together. One of her greatest joys was being Mimi to their eleven beautiful grandchildren. She was a wonderful sister and a friend to many. Her love for gardening, her artistic abilities, and her knack for entertaining and crafting brought happiness and beauty to her entire circle. Wickie cherished holiday gatherings, trips to the beach, and being closely involved in the active lives of her growing family.
Wickie is survived by her husband Butch and sons Ronald D. Thomas, Robert D. Thomas and Reggie D. Thomas; grandsons Ben Thomas, Auston (Maddie) Thomas, Saige (Averi) Thomas, River Thomas, Gage Thomas, Colby Thomas and Parker Thomas; granddaughters Bailey Thomas Turner, Skyler Thomas Griffin, Agi Thomas and Bleu Thomas; great granddaughters Sophia Giannotta, Bella Turner and Sadie Turner. She is also mourned by sisters Joyce (Sam) Alexander and Dannice (Dave) Stockstill, her brother Marty (Jeannie) Moore, and her many cherished nieces and nephews.
To live a life so full of love is to live a full life. Wickie, Mom, Mimi will always be in our hearts and will be missed until we meet again.
Pallbearers will be her grandsons.
